Christmas means --------------

We all find happiness in different things. The true meaning of Christmas cannot be found in material things but in making other people genuinely happy. What we want them to learn is that Christmas is not about the trees, the lights, the presents, the glitz and glam,” Christians regard Christ as the embodiment of the word “Emmanuel,” which means, “God with us,” believing as we do that God was somehow mysteriously present in Jesus of Nazareth.
For many people, Christmas is a stark difference to the warm and fuzzy feelings of the season. Maybe they have no family; maybe they don’t have enough money to buy presents for the people that mean the most to them or perhaps this time of year marks a loss and is attached to sad memories. For others, Christmas has become about material things, shopping for things they don’t really need, to the point of getting in debt to satisfy their need for material things. Christmas, unfortunately, has become commercialized instead of a time that reflects the true meaning of the season – the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
But what does that mean for today’s society where often time’s people don’t associate Christmas with the birth of Jesus and they do nothing to honor his life by behaving in a way that reflects his teachings?
People have gotten lost in needing to have the latest technological gadgets and are often engrossed in the gluttony and over-indulgence of the season. So why not return to the true meaning of Christmas? Why not make the season of Christmas filled with love, kindness, compassion, forgiveness, caring and sharing thus living the true spirit of Christmas.
