Dear Students,
The Loyola
Women’s Hostel (LWH), situated in the south-eastern corner of the sprawling and
scenic Loyola campus, is a ‘home away from home’ for women students. Though any
hostel cannot ordinarily claim to offer all that the parents and siblings can,
the purpose of the Loyola Women’s Hostel is to provide you the space and facilities
to study well. A safe haven, away from the hustle and bustle of city life, it
remains an oasis for rest and relaxation amidst academic stress.
The LWH, a
confluence of students from four different institutions in the campus, is also
a place where students learn for life. For many students, it is a nurturing
ground for many of their creative activities and the learning that happens
outside the classrooms. With the need to understand and adjust with others,
resident students have to learn to live in harmony and cordial relationship
with respect and consideration for the other.
The hostel
life of students is positively a very important part of life during which
students, though away from home, experience a new independence, make new
friends, and expand their horizon of activities and learn to take their own
decisions. Hostel life, with all its limitations and rules, leaves such an
imprint that students generally become nostalgic about the time they have spent
in hostels.
I welcome
you to remain happy and healthy and contribute to the friendly atmosphere on
the campus. Make use of the facilities available at LWH to fulfill your own
aspirations and the fond dreams of your parents. May all your days here in “the
home away from home” be filled with joy and peace!
